The focus of capital stewardship is distinctly different from annual stewardship. Because there is a building or property involved for a specifically described objective, the family of faith can rally around a single project within a prescribed period of time with lasting benefits. Two worthy goals emerge:
- Everyone in the church is informed and encouraged to prayerfully seek God's continuing will for them and their part in the church's mission and ministry.
- Members seek to raise as much money over and above regular giving as possible to fund the project, minimize long-term debt, and enable the church to meet its mission needs.
