Outright gifts of securities, real estate or cash can be given to your church for any purpose. These important assets should all be considered, especially for year-end gift planning.
When appreciated securities or real estate are gifts to your church, there is no capital gains tax, so the full value of your gift is deductible for tax purposes.
Life Insurance that is not needed for family security can be given to your church. According to the type of policy, there is usually a charitable tax deduction for your gift.
IRA accounts are increasingly a source for stewardship. All it takes is including your church as one of the beneficiaries after your lifetime. Consider tithing your IRA.
Some of these giving ideas may be appropriate for you and the Central Texas Methodist Foundation can help with more information. Your call is always welcome.
